Eyes on Asia: Uruguay to formally try for CPTPP; Taiwan says it’s still on track

Uruguay will apply for membership in the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership on Dec. 1, President Luis Lacalle Pou said last week. Lacalle Pou announced the request for accession to the CPTPP during a meeting with parliamentary representatives as part of his plan for a more “open-minded agenda,” Bloomberg reported .
