Citing forced-labor concerns, Commerce adds 14 Chinese companies to Entity List

The Commerce Department on Friday said it had added 14 Chinese companies to its Entity List due to alleged human-rights violations, as well as five Chinese companies the department alleges are directly supporting Chinese military modernization programs. The 14 Chinese entities have been “implicated in human rights violations and abuses in the implementation of China’s campaign of repression, mass detention, and high-technology surveillance against Uyghurs, Kazakhs, and other members of Muslim minority groups in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region,” Commerce...
