CBP stops accepting requests for delayed payments

Less than a week after Customs and Border Protection said it would accept requests for delayed duty payments due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the agency on Thursday announced it was reversing course. “CBP is no longer accepting requests for additional days for payment,” a notice on CBP’s Cargo Systems Messaging Service states. “CBP will retain the right to allow additional days for narrow circumstances, including a physical inability to file entry or payments, due to technology outages or port closures.”...
