100+ industry groups urge Lighthizer to preserve NAFTA's trucking provisions

A broad group of U.S. industry groups has asked U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer to maintain cross-border trucking provisions in NAFTA that allow Mexican carriers to operate in the U.S. At the fourth NAFTA round in mid-October, the U.S. said it wanted a reservation for cross-border trucking services in Annex II of the agreement, which would allow the U.S. to come forward later with domestic measures that restrict Mexican truck access in the U.S. without being in violation of NAFTA...
