Carbon import fee included in budget reconciliation measure

Senate Budget Committee Chair Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) instructed the Senate Finance Committee to consider how to use a “carbon polluter import fee” to offset some of the spending in the $3.5 trillion reconciliation package the Senate advanced Wednesday.
