U.S. labor and civil-society groups on Friday sent Mexican officials a letter warning that the arrest of labor lawyer Susana Prieto Terrazas is tarnishing the July 1 entry into force of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement. Prieto was arrested earlier this month in Mexico for allegedly inciting violence in U.S.-owned factories where employees are protesting in the hopes of winning safer working conditions amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to press reports .
