USTR to furlough employees on Monday if shutdown is not resolved

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative will run out of funds and furlough most of its staff on Monday if the government shutdown is not resolved by then, sources have told Inside U.S. Trade. "All but the most senior officials" will be sent home, according to a source. When asked for comment on Tuesday, a USTR spokesperson referred to the agency's website, which says "Using existing funds, USTR personnel continue to conduct all operations, including trade negotiations and enforcement."...
