Venezuela challenges U.S. 'discriminatory measures' on goods at WTO

Venezuela has initiated a dispute with the U.S. at the World Trade Organization over what it's calling “discriminatory measures” aimed at its goods and services. In its request for consultations, the first step in the WTO dispute settlement process, Venezuela argued that the U.S. “has imposed certain coercive trade-restrictive measures on [Venezuela] in the context of attempts to isolate Venezuela economically.” In response to ongoing Venezuelan economic and humanitarian turmoil, the U.S. has imposed sanctions and blacklisted some Venezuelan officials...
