USTR says Vietnam’s currency practices ‘burden or restrict U.S. commerce’

The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative on Friday released the findings of its Section 301 investigation into Vietnam’s currency valuation, concluding that the country’s practices “are unreasonable and burden or restrict U.S. commerce” and actionable under the statute. The agency, though, chose not to take any actions against Hanoi and will instead defer to the incoming Biden administration, as Inside U.S. Trade reported on Thursday.
