U.S. tables textiles short-supply list similar to CAFTA's, sticks to TPL elimination

The U.S. is sticking to its proposal to eliminate tariff preference levels for textiles and has advanced new language for a short-supply list that would function like the one in the Central America-Dominican Republic Free Trade Agreement, but with fewer articles, sources told Inside U.S. Trade this week. The proposal is unlikely to satisfy the apparel and retail industries in all three countries, sources said.
