U.S. requests USMCA consultations with Canada over its digital services tax
The U.S. on Friday escalated its fight against Canada’s digital service tax by requesting dispute settlement consultations with Ottawa under the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement. “The United States opposes unilateral digital service taxes that discriminate against U.S. companies,” USTR Katherine Tai said in a statement . “USTR is taking action today to address Canada’s discriminatory policies.
