U.S. exporters, business groups lament escalation in U.S.-China trade dispute

U.S. exporters and business groups on Friday decried China’s announcement that it will impose tariffs on $75 billion worth of U.S. goods starting next month. The Chinese government plans to hit 5,078 products with tariffs ranging from 5 percent to 10 percent on Sept. 1, while U.S. autos and auto parts will be hit with tariffs of 25 percent and 5 percent come Dec. 15.
