U.S., China, more than 70 others announce ‘intent to commence’ e-commerce talks

More than 70 countries, including the U.S., China, the European Union and Japan, confirmed on Friday their plan to begin World Trade Organization negotiations on electronic commerce. “We confirm our intention to commence WTO negotiations on trade-related aspects of electronic commerce,” they said in a joint statement released on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
