Trump, Trudeau agree to tariff delay, border measures following Monday call
Canada, like Mexico, will receive a 30-day reprieve of President Trump’s 25 percent tariff as the two sides coordinate on additional border measures to combat organized crime and the flow of fentanyl into the U.S., the two leaders said on Monday. Trump on Saturday signed executive orders imposing steep 25 percent tariffs on Canadian and Mexican goods and an additional 10 percent tariff on China, citing illegal immigration and fentanyl.
