Trudeau, Sheinbaum pledge retaliatory measures following new U.S. tariffs
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum on Saturday announced plans to implement retaliatory trade measures against the U.S. after President Trump followed through on threats to impose steep tariffs on the U.S.’ two biggest trading partners. Trump earlier on Saturday invoked emergency powers to impose 25 percent tariffs on goods from Mexico and Canada , with a lower tariff rate of 10 percent on imports of Canadian energy.
