Senate approves measure to eliminate de minimis in funding bill

Senate Republicans on Tuesday passed a revised version of a budget bill that includes provisions to codify the elimination of de minimis treatment of low-value goods within two years. The reconciliation measure, an expansive bill that would extend tax cuts and advance other aspects of the administration’s domestic agenda, passed 51-50 after Vice President JD Vance broke a tie. Like a version of the bill previously approved by the House, the Senate bill included provisions to repeal by July 2027...
