Sen. Peters flags concern about CBP resources, ability to keep trade flowing
Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI) on Tuesday raised concerns about whether U.S. Customs and Border Protection has “adequate resources” to keep goods moving efficiently, particularly at smaller ports. Peters, chair of the Senate Commerce subcommittee on surface transportation, maritime, freight and ports, convened a hearing titled “Freight Mobility: Strengthening America’s Supply Chains and Competitiveness” featuring representatives from the private sector.
