Malmström: U.S., EU are not negotiating yet, focused on regulatory work

European Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmström on Friday said the United States and European Union have not yet started work on a potential trade agreement on industrial tariffs as the two sides have instead focused on voluntary regulatory cooperation. “We are not negotiating anything with the U.S. We haven’t even started scoping,” she said at a press conference following a meeting with EU member state trade ministers. “The pre-work on a possible trade agreement on industrial goods hasn’t really started yet...
