Lawmakers eyeing 'must-pass' legislation as vehicle for Ex-Im Bank reauthorization

Some key lawmakers are considering extending the Export-Import Bank’s charter by including reauthorization language in “must-pass” legislation, such as a continuing resolution to avoid a government shutdown, Senate Banking Committee members told Inside U.S. Trade on Tuesday. The Export-Import Bank’s charter is set to expire on Sept. 30. Current government appropriations will also expire on Sept. 30 if Congress does not pass a spending bill in the next three weeks.
