Industry analyst: ITC battery ruling could complicate USMCA rule-of-origin compliance

The U.S. International Trade Commission’s recent decision to limit imports needed for electric vehicle battery production in a Georgia plant could make it more difficult for some automakers to meet an already challenging U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement rule of origin, a longtime auto industry analyst said on Tuesday.
