Data-protection legislation expected to be introduced this month in the Indian Parliament “could really set back” a potential U.S.-India trade agreement, a former U.S. trade official said on Thursday, ahead of a much-anticipated meeting between Indian Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal and U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer.
