Florida ag group warns against further harm to seasonal growers under APEP
Southeastern produce growers were “sacrificed” during U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement negotiations and must be better protected in Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity trade talks, a Florida produce group has told the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative. Southeastern crop producers and some backers in Congress have long charged that specialty, seasonal and perishable crop imports from Latin America, particularly from Mexico, harm their states’ competitiveness.
