Europe seeks reassurances from U.S. following LNG export-approval pause
The European Union’s top trade official this week discussed the U.S.’ recent decision to pause liquefied natural gas export approvals with senior administration officials in Washington and was reassured the decision would not imperil EU supplies, he told Inside U.S. Trade. Analysts, however, say the long-term prospects for LNG exports, particularly to Asia, are more uncertain. “The response we were getting was reassuring that certainly there's no intention to, in a sense, harm the LNG supplies to the EU,”...
