EU demands that the U.S. lift LNG export restrictions, regulatory barriers

The European Commission on Thursday said the U.S. should lift export restrictions it maintains on liquefied natural gas to allow Europe to import more LNG from the U.S. “Currently, U.S. legislation still requires prior regulatory approval for liquefied natural gas exports to Europe,” the Commission said in an Aug. 9 statement . “These restrictions need to be addressed and U.S. rules made easier for U.S. liquefied natural gas to be exported to the EU.” The Natural Gas Act requires that...
