Democrats warn of ‘uncertainty’ following exemptions from Trump’s Mexico, Canada tariffs
President Trump's moves to impose steep tariffs on Canada and Mexico and then suspend duties on many products for a month are sparking deep uncertainty across the economy and hampering trade-dependent business decisions, Democratic lawmakers argued this week. The administration on Tuesday imposed long-promised 25 percent duties on all Mexican and most Canadian goods and doubled a 10 percent tariff on Chinese imports.
