Countries escalate Section 232 tariff disputes at the WTO; U.S. follows suit

The World Trade Organization Dispute Settlement Body on Wednesday agreed to establish a panel in disputes over U.S. Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum that are being pursued by seven countries that say the measures violate WTO rules. The U.S. was also granted its second panel requests in disputes over retaliatory tariffs.
