Cornyn, Warner urge Lighthizer to delay India’s GSP revocation

Sens. John Cornyn (R-TX) and Mark Warner (D-VA), co-chairs of the Senate India Caucus, on Friday called on the Trump administration to delay withdrawing India’s Generalized System of Preferences benefits. U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer notified Congress on March 4 that the administration would be ending India’s eligibility for GSP due to market-access concerns and what the Trump administration viewed as India’s continued noncompliance.
