Commerce opens Section 232 probe into commercial aircraft, engines and parts

The Commerce Department has opened an investigation into the national security implications of commercial aircraft and jet engine imports. In a Federal Register notice issued on Friday, the department said Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick initiated the investigation on May 1, under Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962.
