Commerce issues preliminary CVD determination in aluminum foil case

After postponing judgment in May, the Commerce Department on Aug. 8 issued its preliminary countervailing duty ruling on Chinese aluminum foil imports, determining that some producers have been benefiting from state-sponsored subsidies. The Commerce Department issued “preliminary subsidy margins ranging from 16.56 to 80.97 percent of the value of the imported aluminum foil,” according to an Aug. 8 press release from the Aluminum Association.
