China proposes WTO environment body take up individual measures
China this week proposed that the World Trade Organization’s environment committee take up individual climate-related measures implemented by members that could have “significant impact” on trade, allowing the body to discuss, among other issues, the legal basis of a country’s approach, its consistency with WTO rules and how it would be implemented.
