China: Data flow issues require more discussion in WTO e-commerce talks
China this week outlined its positions on World Trade Organization talks on trade-related electronic commerce rules, officially coming out against including cross-border data flows -- a key issue for the U.S. -- and citing the “complexity and sensitivity” of the issue. The WTO communication from China, made public on Wednesday, did back continuing a moratorium on the levying of customs duties on electronic transmissions.
