At CFIUS-focused hearing, lawmakers debate state ag restrictions, USDA’s role

House Financial Services Committee members on Wednesday debated whether Congress should ban restrictions some states have imposed on the purchase of land by foreign nationals, as well as the Agriculture Department’s role in transactions reviewed by the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States.
