Canada's chief negotiator expects climate change language in NAFTA
Canada's chief negotiator for NAFTA told members of the Canadian parliament's international trade committee on Monday that he expects the environmental chapter of the renegotiated deal will include language on climate change, which the U.S. has historically avoided including in its free trade agreements. “We will be bringing the chapter into the agreement, but not only that, looking at much more ambitious objectives [for the] environment than we have in the past,” Steve Verheul told the House of Commons committee...
