Administration efforts to simplify export controls start with AI, could carry forward
The Trump administration is moving forward with efforts to simplify U.S. export controls, beginning with a reimagined framework for artificial intelligence diffusion that could be published as early as next week, according to industry sources. The simplification process, though, could extend to new rules to impose further restrictions aimed at China, the sources said.
