Japan To Cut Beef Duty To 9%, Reduce Max Pork Tariff By 90%

Under the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) deal announced on Oct. 5, Japan has committed to deep reductions in tariffs on most beef and pork products over periods of between 10 to 15 years, but will only eliminate duties for a limited number of these goods and will retain its complex tariff system on pork known as the gate price.
