Two of the European Union's main standards-setting organizations have issued a rejoinder to calls for the U.S. and EU to negotiate a framework that would allow "mutual recognition" of standards in the context of their ongoing free trade talks, warning that it would undermine the EU single market and offer disproportionate benefits to U.S. firms.
