Senate Gives Final Approval To TPA-TAA Bill, After Two-Week Fight Fizzles

The Senate on Friday night (May 22) gave its final approval to a bill that would renew Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) for three years with the option of an additional three-year extension, and would reauthorize for six years the Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program, which is aimed at helping retrain workers if they lose their jobs due to trade.
