Senate Defeats Amendments On New TPP Entrants, Eliminating TAA

The Senate tonight defeated by a vote of 47 to 52 an amendment to the Trade Promotion Authority (TPA) bill by Sen. Sherrod Brown (D-OH) that would have required prior congressional approval of new entrants to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations joining after the enactment of the TPA bill.
