Agriculture Groups Push New TPP Provisions To Help Perishable Goods

LEESBURG, Va. - U.S. agriculture commodity associations and companies this week publicly urged Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiators to include a "rapid response mechanism" (RRM) as part of a final TPP deal. Such a mechanism, they argue, would create a more timely a transparent way for companies to respond to sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) barriers or technical barriers to trade (TBT) that adversely affect U.S. agricultural exports.
