USTR Sees Proliferation Of Bilateral, Regional Deals Due To Doha Impasse

U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk expects that countries will increasingly look to negotiate bilateral or regional trade agreements in light of the impasse in the multilateral Doha round negotiations. He also believes that countries need to do a better job of explaining the benefits of trade in order to help sell ambitious trade deals to a skeptical public.
