Italian GI Group Seeks Stronger Enforcement For Protected Names In U.S.
NEW YORK – The head of an Italian association that advocates for the protection of geographical indications (GI) here on Wednesday (April 22) echoed arguments by the European Commission that the United States should commit through a bilateral trade deal to provide administrative enforcement for protected names, and indicated that this is a higher priority than securing new protections for Italian GIs themselves, at least for the time being.
