European Parliament Approves TTIP Resolution With ISDS Amendment

The European Parliament on Wednesday (July 8) passed a resolution outlining its priorities in the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) that included a carefully worded amendment instructing the European Commission to replace investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) with a reformed construct for resolving such disputes. The resolution passed by a wide margin of 436-241, while the ISDS amendment passed 447-229.
