CBP In Talks On Tariff Changes To Counter Misclassified Chinese Aluminum

The United States is consulting other governments on proposed changes the U.S. has drafted to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) meant to stymie a flood of “fake semi-finished” aluminum products entering the global market -- primarily from China -- that evade export duties while simultaneously qualifying for Chinese export subsidies.
